Windows 10/11 tiling window manager

Native tiling control for serious Windows work.

Astur adds Left Alt controls, dwindle and master layouts, workspaces, and a status bar without replacing the Windows shell.

  • Move or resize any window from anywhere with Left Alt.
  • Tile active windows into predictable dwindle or master layouts.
  • Run as a single portable Rust exe with no installer or service.
Windows app. Use Windows 10 or 11 x64. On macOS, Linux, Android, or iOS, download from a Windows PC or build only for Windows targets.

Left Alt + right resize corner

Alt + 1..9,0 switch workspace

Windows ergonomics for keyboard-heavy workflows.

Windows already has the app ecosystem. Astur keeps that intact and adds the missing window-manager layer: fast pointer movement, keyboard focus, real tiling layouts, workspace switching, and config that can be changed without reinstalling anything.

Focused controls for daily window management.

Mouse

Alt-drag anywhere

Hold Left Alt and drag from any point in a window. No title-bar targeting and no per-app configuration.

Resize

Nearest-corner resizing

Right-drag selects the nearest corner, keeps the opposite corner anchored, and shows a clear resize marker.

Layout

Dwindle or master tiling

Use dwindle by default, or switch to master layout for a main work area plus stack.

Workspaces

Ten workspace keys

Switch with Alt+1-9,0 and move windows with Alt+Shift. Shared and per-monitor workspace modes are configurable.

Focus

Promote, swap, float

Promote a focused window, swap layout order, move by direction, or float one window while the rest stay tiled.

Runtime

Native and lightweight

Built as a native Rust binary using Win32 hooks and DWM styling. No installer, no service, no Electron shell.

Run it in under a minute.

Download

Get the latest Windows x64 exe from GitHub Releases. Astur is Windows-only.

Run

Double-click the exe or launch from a terminal. Run as admin only if you need to manage elevated windows.
